Do you despair? Do you repaint? Do you leave it in the corner of a closet to be forgotten? :o)
This is one of my Fridas. At the time I though she was so cute and funny... I was making funny looking people and all of them sold but her. It's been ages and all she gets is a quick pass through. So I decided she needed a fresh start!
What do you think? Darker background, face lift, darker hair and jewelry. She is ready for a Fiesta :oD

Great question!
I strongly feel there is a buyer for everything. It's just a matter of how long you want to wait.
I like to change things around often at the shop I'm in,remove, replace and rest. Take something out, give it a rest, replace it with something new. Bring it back another time.
Hugs, Amy
I know exactly what you mean, I'm going through those thoughts right now. It's hard not to let it get to me as I'm so critical of my work anyway.
I think I just don't network enough but to be honest apart from having a blog and a facebook page as well as etsy I don't know what more i can do so perhaps my art is missing something? hmmmm
As for your Frida's I definitly like them both but I have to say the additions you gave her have stepped her up. Even though I really like the original too :0)
Oh yes, she looks better now with the dark hair.
I like it.
have a great week

Y'know....I never think to re-do...I just reduce...the price, that is...haha!
In this case, though...I think you're on to something. I liked her before, but I like her even more re-done. I hope this helps find her a new home....fast!!!
I like the polka dotted dress, too :)
Martha, very nice! It's amazing doing something a little different to the painting, can change it so much! You know, if something doesn't sell right away, I don't get down on myself. I might change it a little, or wait for the perfect buyer ;o)
She looks great... definately better with the darker hair and the wee wisp in front!
She looks much better, great 'make over'!!! I got the little mermaid in the mail today (the 'OWOH-prize') and I love her!!! Thank you so much!!!
I really like the re-do. When in doubt...I just blame the economy! LOL!
The dark hair looks a lot nicer, really brings out her eye:)
I hope you managed to sell her Martha. Happy Paper Saturdays.
