Decisions...

I have been playing around with this painting for a while. I usually let things sit for days if I get stuck, until the right feel comes to mind. So I printed it, and tried ideas to decide on how I want the hair on her.

These are rough sketches on wind blown hair. Initially the hair was going to be gathered in the back but I decided loose is better. The second one looks more like what I want, but it never hurts to play, right?  I absolutely love painting people with acrylics.
There's more to be done on this painting, but for now that's where I'm at.

I think I do like the second one ... the flowing hair is soothing to me...I do not know why though. Keep up the great work! Peace, Mary Helen

Thanks Mary Helen! Yes, the second is softer in the eye, the other one is too crazy, much movement

Beautifully stunning and rich with a dream journeying feel ..wonderful vibe! I love BOTH! and actually just as you have them here displayed side by side...is powerful...reflective and meditative...almost like an inbreath and outbreath...and transformation! they look stunning together as a set!
Whatever you do..follow your magic..it is perfect!

Martha, I love your style of painting and I am so enjoying the painting you sent me. I wondered if it might be someone you know or is it just from your head. In the two versions of this beautiful WIP, I definitely prefer the swooping windblown hair of the 2nd one. Great start. I'm eager to see it progress.

I like the direction of the hair in the second one. Perhaps a bit more could be added though?

Lovely - with or without the blowing hair.

well, they are different winds, the second one is a peaceful, gentle breeze, very reassuring, and the first one is a wind that blows away the doubt and fear, and energizes you for what's next.

I love the first one, it's like a skydiver taking that deep centering breath before the leap.
