Art journal page

Here is a page of my journal, and update on my dolls (which i will post more details in my doll blog!)
The page was made for Dallas, a great illustrator who invited people to make his Reaching hands, towards something we love doing... so you see what my hands are :o)
I debated between this and chocolate lol And the winner was a guy that made his hands reaching waffles... so I was not too lost there hee hee hehehe

And I am participating in this Summer of Color! at least as much as I can.... but it is one of those juicy activities I cannot skip, loos like SO much fun!

Two different "L"

After I finished drawing these hands, I stopped to think one was "love" and the other one a sign of "looser". Funny that I have those two L letters together... :oB

I finished the page of the face I showed yesterday, will post it tomorrow.
The teams for the "Exquisite corpse" are selected (what is that? well, google it, but we are aiming for whimsical, not too grotesque!) So anyway... soon we will be mailing each other drawints to finish together.... Another activity from the 29 faces group.
If any other person would like to participate in "spontaneous"  collabs and challenges, just let me know!

I have to say, out of all the things I have penciled in my life, baby hands are the hardest! I made a few that I had to destroy, they were terrible lol Finaly I made an adult hand to go as a visual reference, because my baby hands were looking like fat decrepit monster hands
ლ(ಠ_ಠლ) ugh!

 Also, I guess I ended up making them too light, because my scanner didn't want to catch the detail unless it was ALL detail including paper edges, wrinkles and all lol Some days are like that :oP

Three more hands

I am having a lot of fun with the hands but I think I got in too many things this month! lol

Today I worked on the little face of a doll, visiting me from Australia. Since it is painted, I will show tomorrow the picture in this blog as well, I just need good lighting for it, the first I took had very sharp shadows. Can't believe we are reaching the 90's this early!

Face in the World update

With so many things going on, I completely forgot to post about the amazing collab we are doing in my team #3 in Face in the World!
This one was started in charcoal by Marji,  her blog is HERE
Then Sandra transformed her with beautiful shades of blue. Visit her blog HERE.
Here is what I received in the mail:

Blank background ready for me to play with! Took me a couple of days to feel the direction to follow, then I just went for it. I really didn't want to cover the face so.... I cloned it! :oD

 

I collaged another face and layered it with flesh tones, then I used fluid acrylics for the background. Now I just wonder what Manon is going to do next!

Also, here are 3 more hands for my "Hands in April" challenge:

They are "1", "3" and "4". I didn't make "2" because it looks too close to the "peace and love" I made already :oP

More hands and a video

For my hands today: Tah-Daaaaa! Hand painting nail polish to another hand. Thanks for the suggestion! ♥

I bumped into a cool hands video. This is kind of close to the way I draw my hands, only I do it by hand B>) ...and make my lines outside, not just small marks for the fingers, but that's drawing preference mostly.
The music is a bit repetitive and annoying IMO, so maybe you can just turn off the sound. It worked for me ;o)

 Since I am posting 2, I will be skipping tomorrow, to post another journal page. I am actually going to be trying to make a video and have it ready... sort of difficult for me, but let's see, maybe the video won't be ready tomorrow, but the page deffinitely.

Thanks for the suggestion to do Dr Spock's hand, it was fun, and I would've never thought of making that one!

Next I guess will be holding hands, an ugly scary hand, and I am thinking, maybe a baby chubby hand... that would be a challenge!
What other hand ideas would you like to see? Thanks for your comments!

Thanks for the awesome suggestion of making "heart" hands! I had fun drawing these:

They look a bit too .... hmmm what is the world I want? Scary? Whitchy? haha I mean, they could've been a bit more plump, softer maybe.  Maybe the lines are too harsh, not sure. But overall I am happy with them :o)

I will not post hands tomorrow, because I want to share a journal page in steps, so it was great to have 2 hands for today.
Any other ideas out there? :oD

5th hand, fancy ring

Per request, a fancy ring in a hand for today... but you can tell I am not a jewlery designer! ha!

I have been working on dolls for 2 different teams, but I also have been painting a lot, only that I need to scan and I have not done it. I also need to list!

2nd hand and Face in the world

This is my left hand in what was supposed to be a "reaching" position, but somehow ended up looking just funky. The proportions are a bit off, but it was fun to draw, regardless :o)

Also, for my team in "Face in the world", I finally got the first piece to work on fro Australia!
I am working on it with pencil, can you see the arm there? Then I will add collage and a little color... and get it ready to mail it to the UK

April's hands

Well, I kind of ran out of day! I hope you did not suffer to much through the April's fool day. I myself, didn't feel so great today :oB
Anyway.... I am doing hands for this month of April... play along with me!
This is my hand for today. You can make as many, as big, or as detailed as you want. I am aiming for one a day, let's see how it goes!
