Day 10, another doggy
This is Burt. He went to heaven last December. But he lived a long and happy life, and now he will be remembered with this painting as well.
I can't believe I completely forgot last night when I started the background, and today to take pictures while painting! But that's what happens when I get too much into it, I don't think of cameras etc. So I don't have any in progress pics, but it is the same as in last post. I even used the same palette. Ochre, raw umber, white, blue and green, and red for the collar.
For some reason, pet's eyes are harder for me to do than humans.
The angle and proportions are a bit funky, but I think in general, it still resembles the little Chi dog?
And my kid's face of the day, inspired on a video of a weird song called Rocketship she saw in Futurama; a sock puppet martian....?

Day 9, bunch of pictures
For my face a day, I painted a dog. She is a very special dog that now lived in doggy heaven.I painted this for a dear friend who is missing her so much, after many years of companionship. I hope she likes it ♥
Acrylics on 11x14 canvas
(Tomorrow I am doing another doggy in heaven)
Also, a drawing from my daughter:(She doesn't really need one, but don't tell her I said that)
Keep reading after the brake so you can see work in progress pictures, and another drawing from my girl that I forgot to include yesterday :oP

I spy with my little eye...
... two goofy pets!
I was laughing so hard to find silly Panzón in a tight little ball right in the middle of the yard. I went to grab my camera and then Scruffie came to the picture all concentrated sniffing some old lost track of a mysterious scent. I could not catch the moment she sniffed his butt, I was laughing too hard!
Just look at his face in the last picture of his disgusted look. XoD hahaha

Quick post
Wow, October already! It's Sunday night and I have been busy with all kinds of house things this weekend, including some very sweaty gardening. I have great plans for my back yard, but Scruffy insists on helping so things will go very slow.
At least she is ready for Halloween! Yup, she's going to be a hot dog hehehe

And here's Panzón, a reluctant model for our New Shop, where we are listing all kinds of little crafts.

He told me that for Halloween he wants to dress as a penguin.... :oP

Thank you sweet old lady...
Remember my last post where I said " we are in the right place at the right time"? well....
This morning I was taking my son to a summer class, and I had been complaining all along about this sweet, SLOW old lady driving infront of me. I was getting so frustrated with her! Finally I was able to pass her, then made my change of line to turn to another street, where within seconds a HUGE pickup came from the opposite side of traffic, crossed through my line and crashed against a block wall and broke it.
Few seconds earlier and it would've been me, not the wall. I had to keep going so not to stop all the traffic behind me, but first thing I thought was... Thank you slow old lady! Thank you Lord!
If the block wall was broken, I would've been killed. But nothing happen, the pick up didn't crash anyone, and the driver was walking when I was coming back from dropping my son.
I feel blessed and very lucky. :o)
Here is one of the ACEOs my daughter and I made yesterday. Yes, it is Scruffie.

We are making more doggy ACEOs, and some of Panzón too so he won't be jealous (like if he cares!)

Note: skip this if you don't like to read strange postings.
I had been in a "sad and blue" mood for a few days, which is unusual as I am a happy and silly person, and love to laugh. But due to many little (and not so little) things happening around me, I had been feeling deflated and droopy. I don't like to blog about negative stuff so I have been avoiding posting.
I am better now, but from my little negative corner I even started to question my art. Why to do it? Why to even bother. I got depressed. Then I got angry.
I prefer to be angry in any case, you know? Because when we are sad we just plop and melt... but when we are angry we DO things (hopefully good things!) So I went all angrily stomping to clean my mess... Which made me feel better because I could finally see my stuff.
It was quite a bumpy road, and I am happy to be back to my normal self. Well, maybe "normal" is not the best word to use but whatever ;o)
Then next day I sold a doll and a painting in my Etsy shop... and next day I sold an ACEO in my ebay. That sure put a big smile on my face.
Seriously, it means the world to me! I printed that in stickers and and put it in my art pieces. It means the world to me.
I really mean it. Xo)
And in that cheerful mood, I will leave you with a cute picture:

Chillin'
We went to the coast over the weekend, and it is such a nice change on weather, scenery, color... I want to share some pictures. Of course the ones I took are the silly pics, and the wonderful views were taken by my son.
Both my kids take such great pictures!
(Yes, I am momma crow, but in this case, Im-a tellin' ya, they are good! :oD)

Sorry, I just had to include a picture of Scruffie....!

Put it one way, (and you can quote me on that) we all see the same things, but most of us don't get to click :oB he he he

Summer days...
I don't know about your part of the world, but here, the summer starts early, fast and hot. And unless you are in the south of the world, you are probably enjoying some hot weather as well. The only part I don't enjoy is when the electric bill gets here... ouch! Electricity in California is very expensive, at least in my county.
Well anyway, I have been keeping the kids busy, and slowly but surely working on my artsy craftsy projects.
For my "Touring baby" I have visiting my friend Rhonda's baby, isn't she cute?

I will give her some hair and a cute dress (same fabric as her shorts), then ship her to Idaho, an she will keep her travels all the way back to NC. Check the Babies Blog HERE
Also, let me tell you: My Frida doll was included in a very pretty treasury! HERE
Made by whisperings13 in Etsy, thank you! That made me very happy :o}
I have a cute picture to share too. Former enemies, now nap partners, Panzón and Scruffie:

Four little piggies went to market...
And one little piggy stayed home....

Actually, it was not piggies but doggies, and they didn't go to the market, but to a new home. :oP
This past few days have been crazy. We said good bye to Wickham first, then Bingley .... couple of days later Darcy left, then Bennet. Tomorrow a nice teacher will come and fall in love with Collins, who is very funny and full of energy.
Now they have different names (Champ, Sugar, Bolt, Doug) and soon, they won't remember me, which is a bit sad. But I won't have the marathon feedings and cleaning at 6 AM after five doggies and I am sure that by itself will make me miss them a bit less :oP

Did you know?
Some time ago I found this nifty site, with a "best days to list" calendar. I am not sure if it really helps but HERE it is. I think there is always a good day if the right buyer/collector finds you.
In any case, I am listing often both in ebay and etsy and I am thrilled to have sales. Thank you very much to the buyers, the new and the repeated collectors.

A cat's perspective on puppies...
We had fun making this little video, I hope you enjoy it!
Link: HERE to see it in the site and please don't forget to rate (*Note: youtube removed the star rate, so now there is only "thumbs up" or "thumbs down"), maybe leave a comment there if you want :o)
There is a blue box with the new way to navigate on youtube (at least it will be there for some time anyway! till they change it again hehehe)

Boy, are we hungry!
These little beasties are leaving their poor momma all skinny, she was sick the other day, got me worried for a bit, now we are giving her two more servings and less puppy time, which leads to another problem.... messy puppies! hehehe
... and a lot of extra work right after they are done... clean 5 faces, wipe 20 paws, wash tiny dishes and of course the floor. uff!
But just look at them, aren't they cute?
TIP:Sometimes I leave a posting on draft and post later, so just in case, click on the top logo to see the most recent postings.

Spring has sprung
So here is an update on the "poopies": Every time I turn around, they spill out of the box like marbles, then they cry because they are lost LOL They walk around in circles like drunk zombies and we just laugh so much with their antics.
Panzón keeps his distance, but comes every morning to make sure he is still the king of his plate, then he takes off back to his cat business.

I went to list on Etsy some Frida Mini Paintings, I like the way they turned out! I also listed one Frida HERE
And this is the tree we see from the back window:

For about 3 days there were like 100 small birds with yellow chests, making all kinds of happy noises, in their way to the south, I'm sure.
Lovely Spring. I hope wherever you are, you are having a beautiful day.

I spy with my little eye.....
Something shiny! They look so cute with their eyes open! Well, at least three of thewm anyway :oP

From the start Mr. Bennet is the biggest and ahead of the rest. He opened his eyes first and faster. Mr Collins still has them closed, but a bit squinty. I am seriously considering changing his name to Mr. Magoo LoL
They all need a shower in the worst way! We put some newspaper for them and now they are all stained with ink, silly things!
I'll come back tomorrow to post about paintings and dolls.

Fat tamales
Look at the puppies, aren't they getting fat? They look like tamales to me!
I have been busier than what I really meant to be, with these 5 doggies.... I guess it is fun, but it is a lot of work to feed a mom of 5 boys, always hungry and in a hurry.
They still don't open their eyes. Mr. Bennet has the darkest face, and Mr. Collins is still the runt. Mr. Wickham is barking, silly thing still can't open his eyes but he's barking heeheh
I am so thrilled to inform you I won the Giveaway in Janine's blog!! Can't wait to see it in person!! yaay!!
Also, I listed an elf on ebay. His name is Randee. He's barely 4 inches, but with his hat, he's close to 5 inches. He has a fun cupcake too.

Well, let's all go and have a nice week!

March already!
We are already in March, wow! And the puppies are growing like fat ticks on poor momma dog. I noticed their little noses are no longer pink, but a shade of brown, same for their tiny paws and ears. Just like Scruffie, they are developing a bit of dark tones in some places and the rest is a white coat. Which means, all of them being boys, that they will never be clean LoL :oP
Their personalities (or is it dog-sonalities?) are quite diverse: Mr Bennet is calm, same for Mr. Darcy who is so cute, and half the time Mr Bingley. Mr. Whickam barks a lot, very demanding little thing! And Mr. Collins sings the opera. At least that's what it sounds to us when he makes his puppy noises hehehe

I have not done anything art related, just busy stuff, house/yard stuff, mom stuff. Pet stuff!
Sometimes life's like that :oS
Tomorrow I will actually sit to work on my TDP's journal. I know now what I want to do. I just couldn't figure what to do before, but I have an idea so I'll work on it. Then it goes to the box and to the post office, yaay!

Do I have news for you!
Hello there! First I will tell you about my wonderful 2 things delivered in the mail after I won in the OWOH blog event:
An adorable doll from my buddy Cindy Sowers:

A cool necklace from Deborah of heavenlyhumor:

I am so happy! Thank you ladies!
Now let me tell you... I took Scruffie to the vet, right? we took an X ray because I was so worried who the "other dog" was, so there was a chance they puppies were too big. Long story short, the X rays shows 5 heads... I panicked because I was thinking more like 3 :oS And no clue on what to do to help.
Well, last night at some odd hour, she delivered her 5 healthy puppies, all of them look fine, and identical to her!
In the fist inspection, ALL seem to have boys parts... so I guess we will check again later, just to make sure. Isn't it funny if all are from the same gender?? My daughter and I were thinking to call the babies with the Pride and Prejudice names. One was going to be Mr. Darcy. Now with 5 boys, I guess we will have to forget about Lizzy and Charlotte... The options will be Mr. Darcy, Mr. Bingley, Mr. Whickham, Mr. Bennet and Mr. Collins (poor little guy). My dentist will adopt one of them! :oD
Here's the proud momma:

And here is Panzón, who is banned from the house till the babies are bigger:
He doesn't mind, now that the weather is better and naps are more fun in the "jungle" than in a boring carpet anyway LOL
As for art and dolls... well, I will go back to that soon. Life played a twirly twirl on my this past few weeks (with the flu, leaky roof, crazy repair men, pregnant dog and all that), but getting back to normal now :oD

It never rains in California....
But when it does, it pours right on my bed! :o( agh!
Actually wasn't sure how to title this posting. My options were:
1.-"I am sick as a dog with a stuffed up nose and wet teary eyes"
2.-"My roof leaked horrible right on my pillow, no it was not me drooling"
3.-"Soon we will have more babies in my home"
I'll spare you the details, but the short version is Scruffie is pregnant, due in about 2 weeks (yikes! what am I going to do??) At least she won't have to be alone in a cold parking lot now. :o/
My roof sprung a leak in the worst place, right on top of the bed which most likely is ruined. Well actually things could be worse if it was on top of the TV or something.
And I have a nasty cold which makes me a very unhappy camper. :oP
So now, for the fun part of the posting.... pictures!
Scruffie and Panzón having dinner together... wow!
My traveling doll. She is about 4 inches tall, about 8 if she was standing up. I'll post the story separately.
Now my dear friends, I bid you good bye. I have to blow my nose 300 more times.
See you soon! :O}

Cats, Dogs and Traveling Dolls
OMG February already?
Updates in our old-cat new-dog drama:
Well, we are not happy feline campers. Panzon is eating out, fast then he's gone the rest of the day. He doesn't want to come in, and I am very happy it is not as cold as it was weeks ago. We fed him treats every time we walked Scruffie infront of him, so he will eventually connect her with a nice feeling. At least he is not all puffed up anymore! :oP
And our dogie has two names. Scruffie and "Chiquita". Yeah, we like to make things complicated I guess LoL
I took some pictures to share:

Doesn't he look lonely?
And one more WIP picture of my Traveling Doll Project:

I have her story all written down, I'll post it in a couple of more days, just to keep some mystery going ho ho ho ho
Oh, don't forget to join me in the OWOH giveway HERE if you have not done so already :o)
