Here are a bunch of faces. I think mine are horrid today, and definitely need lots of more work, like the one with purple hair, that poor thing is hideous, but nothing that more paint can't fix.
That goes to tell you, there is no failing, just need of more layers ha!
And these made by my daughter.... Frida and a skeleton
That one without purple hair is very interesting, mysterious and wonderful. It is not so easy to know how to go on...
ReplyDeleteYou have said that we can show those paintings which aren't ready. You can do so, too :-)
You daughter's drawing is wonderful. Greetings to Her :-)
Thank you for being so authentic.... I thought I was the only one who hated my faces....I'm not sure we always have a choice how they appear...and you are right about the layers...only thing is, I over worked a face that was mediocre and now it's worse...so back to the drawing board...or should I say paint brush!! Your blonde lady is awesome albeit quite stern, and your purple haired lady looks quite angry... there must be a reason...
ReplyDeleteI like how expressive they are.... You are too hard on yourself!
Hugs Giggles
Love these faces and your use of colours and how you lay it down. You are being very hard on yourself as they both have beauty in them.
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful, and not perfect like us!!! We all can look in the mirror and find all our faults. I think we do that with our art too. And "real" faces are tough! You are doing a great job. Hugs, Rasz
ReplyDeleteOops, forgot to say your daughter's are AWESOME drawings!!! Takes after mom a bit???
ReplyDeleteThere are no horrid faces - just interesting ones in the making. Love the color on the first one and I know purple lady will be fabulous when complete
ReplyDeleteI'm kinda likin' that face with the purple hair. There's some canine about her, which is very interesting, and I'm sure you'll work some magic on it!
ReplyDeleteThese are interesting and charming. My favorite are the the black and white lady and skeleton pair...there must be an interesting story behind those two! ;)
ReplyDeleteVery nice faces!
ReplyDeleteThere are no mistakes in art, for sure!!
ReplyDeleteOh how beautiful! I love the brush work, the tones, the side of the face, the purple hair...your daughters piece is beautiful! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteso wonderful to see what you ladies have been up to!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful paintings, very beautiful faces.
ReplyDeleteYour daughters Art is stunning ! Following your lead! Beautiful and Joy full to see, thank you! xo
ReplyDeleteThey are definitely not horrid! The lady at the top looks so strong and independent. I think she must be a senator at least.
ReplyDeleteI like the developing feeling of the other two faces, and I can see what you mean about wanting to add more to them to achieve what is in your mind. They are good at each stage, and I like them, but we are so often dissatisfied with our own work, when other people can see the originality and beauty in them.
And you are showing us that you mean what you told us at the beginning - post it whether it's half done, whether you are unhappy with it, whether you think anyone else will like it or not. I have taken that to heart completely, and shown many that I would never normally shown, and you know what, I've learnt from it and got more confidence from people's comments. So I thank you, and am enjoying myself.
Your daughter's drawing is wonderful, and a very original pairing that I am sure Frida would have appreciated.
Love your paintings, Martha. Each one has a special quality to it. Your daughter is very artistic. You must be proud that she is following in your footsteps.
