yaaaay!

I just got in the mail my beautiful giveaway painting from Diane Salter... it is SO awesome!
Look at the picture, it doesn't do it justice, it is so vibrant in person! Thanks Diane! I love it!! (≧◡≦) yaaay!

I am working on 3 ACEOs for the fun challenge Pam (Always artistic)  has at this blog HERE
Nope... you are not going to see any images just yet ;oD
You will have to wait a bit.... But it is about spring!

What can I say?

Wow... I can't believe so many days have past from my last post! I have been painting a little, but I have not been posting.
I went to visit all the blogs in the29 faces Linky.... it was a big job, but so wonderful and enjoyable!
I invite everyone to do the same, HERE .

We went out over the weekend but forgot my camera, so not even a little image to show of out drive and the sunny day. According to the weather forecast, we will be reaching 90 by Thursday.... too early for that heat! But then again, when is the weather forecast right? :oD

I am working on this journal page. I know there is a face in there, I just need to sit and paint it ♥

ACEOs and duties

For the past few days I was on call for Jury Duty. It is a long but interesting procedure, for those that are not familiar with it, and people go there with a mix of dread and interest, for the most part. I was not selected, so I felt a little sad, but here I am with the art work I did at night:

Somehow I think these will be called The three Graces. The third one will be posted tomorrow. Click to see them in Etsy

Thanks for visiting!

One more for the weekend

I'm kind of liking this style, quite different from my usual! This is a bunch of layers less than what I am used to, before I feel it's done. Unless I am working on watercolor-like, then I do things very differently.
Not sure if I could do it in ACEO size but I will try :oD

I am including this one in the last day of the "10 day painting" from Jane Desrosier of Gritty Arts.

It is hard to stop

After all the days of the challenge, I find it now hard to stop. I am enjoying the lose brush finish in this series of paintings!
I am calling this one "Flamenco dancer"

Somehow it reminded me of the video of "Boy with a coin" from Iron and Wine:

I hope you are having a great weekend!

Last day of 29 faces! noooo

This month went too fast! Today we celebrate the last day of 29 faces challenge.

Did you learn something about yourself? Did you discover new blogs? Hopefully you made at least one new artsy friend!
For those in FB group, the chit chat will continue, many friendships were started and a sparkle of creativity of the somewhat reluctant Muses, came alive. ٩(◠◡◠)۶

I want to congratulate you ALL for trying! Thank you very much for participating in this challenge, thanks for doing 1, 5, or 29 faces... we all do what we can, and sometimes life  has other plans, but the thing is that we try.

Every single time I run a challenge, something completely unexpected happens. From a computer virus, to a nasty cold; from a computer totally collapsing, to the passing of a loved one.
Don't let it stop you. Find your way to paint, draw, doodle... it is something in your system, let it flow and it will help you relax and cope.

Wow, I got too philosophical-ish serious there. But really, the end of the challenge makes me a bit sad.
However, I am going to see you all in September to make more faces!

Something I like doing is leaving my last face unfinished, as a continuation for the next time:

See you soon! Hugs!

28th face of 29

I think this is the worst face I ever made.. and dared to post.
Well, no one said it had to be a perfect end, right? I will work on it some more later when I get the inspiration. Today the muse was gone.
I like the close-up though :o)

Face #27, a Dreamy lady

I started with very dark turquoise and some how ended up too close to the color I used yesterday... funky, I think. I have been trying to use contrasting colors, at least in my head.

Anyway, this is a page in my journal, with some collage.
I have to say something: I am loving painting in this journal book! It is a surprise to me, because in the beginning I was feeling very limited in space, but I think I'm finally getting used to. Plus I love going through the pages and looking at all the colors. There are no words, so far I have not felt the need, but maybe I should add some before the month is gone. Thanks Pam (Always Artistic) I am really loving your present!

And my daughter's 22nd face: Courtney Crumrin, comics series.

We are so close to the end of the 29 faces challenge! have you visited all the participants blogs? look HERE to have great eye candy!

Face #26 of 29. A Goddess

This is challenging to me: stopping way before I think I am done. Why? Because I am getting feedback here at home to stop adding paint  \(ツ)/

So, based on that.... I have here this lady. Not sure if she is a Goddess, Mother Nature, or just a sort of free spirit girl. I am not going to even attempt to make her even-faced. This is very lose brush for me and scary and all, I'm leaving it as is.

I am very happy with the background and a very simple palette:
