This is the continuation of my art collab with Sal, the video is coming soon with more details!
I just wanted to post the painting as my last face of the 29.
Well, I hope everyone had fun, and even if there was stress and frustration, we still discovered something new by pushing a daily time to do our art. :o*
I made this sketch with pencil and darkened a little digitally. We are almost all done with the challenge!
I also made this one earlier, when I originally read about the teacher telling the little boy his left hand was "bad"... some people should not be near schools, much less teachers.
But out of that negativity, we made in the 29 faces group, many, many! left art art. ♥
I spent most of the day packing and organizing and checking my art stash for things that I know well I do not use, because I had forgotten i had them... yes, shame on me LOL
But hey, I will be posting the goodies as I downsize and reorganize my art room. Keep an eye for the post!
For now, I made a face out a splash of paint that I found and like...
Turned out cut I think? ;o)
Looks like a little feather ♥ Maybe it is a little sparkle of the red blood moon we had tonight (and that I couldn't see in this dusty sky we have) >:o/
I made this drawing while waiting for my husband in the car on an errand. It is in red card stock that I used to make a little sketchbook...
I have been SO busy with the video art collabs, the video editing and the new 2 online classes (registration open now! see HERE) bu I can always make a little time for a sketched face ♥ We are almost at the end of the 29 faces!
What is new for me this time around is the position of the heads when I draw or paint, and in this case the hair... isn't she cute wiht that short style?
This one is another of the "clean the brush" pages, and I decided to make hair with the black paint, so it will be a bit of a problem when I come back to finish the skin tones. But overall, it is a fun face ;o)
In the beginning there was only #green. Later on came the #pencil dancing with the dream of more colors to come and dance together #artjournalpage
In the last minute I decided to make a 2nd video for the #LoveFallArt collaboration and sure enough, it took my whole day, till midnight!
So, it is a collage of an oil painting I made before, collaged and it is now a giveaway for those that share the video and leave a comment THERE in the video (not here)
I made this little illustration out of one of my drawings, and I colored it with wet media on printed paper. After I scanned I discovered the ondulation paper gives a cool halo around her so I left it like that :oD
This is just a quick charcoal sketch on an envelop, because I like the color, but the surface was very unevenly sleep in parts and rough in others...? Still was fun to make a face when in a hurry. :oP
This is my face for today, the front page for my Traveling Journal which is going to be mailed to Sandra in the UK, and then travel from there to 11 other destinations through the year. ♥
It is also my entry for the #LoveFallArt video collaboration. Subscribe to my channel if you haven't already :oD
If you feel that you overwork your paintings, I invite you to do this exercise:
Start a piece and way before it is finished, stop. Let it sit on the side for a day or two. Think of several ways to keep working on it, like color or any other technique to apply, and then go ahead and finish. Do not add anything else than what you thought of while in the break. It is just an excercice and it is easier for some than for others. Try and see! :oD
Have you tried faces in different poses? They are a bit more challenging than a frontal face but fun to make. Try if you have not already!
Today is a special day. My baby is starting college. I officially have to grown kids in the university... sniff sniff. (I'm crying for the cost of the books! omg!) lol
I am having so much fun brushing faces and leaving them to be a re-start for later. Some would be completed just as they are, but I just think of all the extra details I will add later, practicing to stop and to have a more loose brush. This one might be calling for a few layers of highlights/ Later. Maybe :o)
I made this little sketch in less than 10 minutes. Pencil on card stock. That goes to prove that we can do something fun every day. I edited digitally to make the colors stronger, I like the results. Somehow the white turned into pink blue and purple... :o)
Two lessons in one! A canvas painting, and a journal spread! These paintings were so much fun to make, I know you will enjoy them too. You can paint a face even with no experience at all.
Self-paced lessons, easy to follow!
Easy to follow instructions from start to finish.
Lesson is given in real time, just a few parts are speed-up, for practical reasons, but for the most part you see what happens while I paint, and you can make a beautiful mermaid even if you do not have much experience painting.
What is class one about?
This online painting class is only one project, unlike my other classes, but I have included some extras just to make it more fun.
Play with texture, collage, drawing, and different kinds of paints. What is class two about?
The second classis a 4 page journal spread where you will learn not only to paint a cute mermaid but also to make bubbles the easy way! These lessons are hours long but divided in parts so you can take brakes. You have access to this material for a long time, at least a year. And can watch it as many times a s you want! ♥
This lesson is a 4 page spread ♥
What do I need?
-Fast internet connection.

Very hot colors! Looks like she is o fire :oD
I actually had to stop myself from keep going... I want to make a deliberate effort in leaving things unfinished. It is good for those of us that overdo the details. Once in a while, leave a figure just marked, and stop.
It. Is. Hard. (°‿~ )

When I started to work on Visual journals, I had no idea I was going to like it so much.
There is certain kind of magic to go back and find a page to finish, or to add something else, and leave it for more later on.
In this page I worked some more in some layers I had left for months, and it felt good to make a face, and add many more details.
It is almost 1 week already! A How are you doing?

I am leaving this face very abstracted today. Very loose brushwork. I know I will be coming back to it in the future, but for now as an exercise, it is done :o)
Her eyes are closed, her expression dreamy. What is she thinking about?
This is a face I made long time ago but I never felt ok with it. So I gessoed a bit, and started a different one. Not sure what I will do to the hair, but I'm liking the face :o)
Unfortunately I did not take a picture of how it looked before \(Ͼ˳Ï¿)/
Have you practiced making faces looking to the side?
I used only cool colors for the page background, mostly very watery and runny.
Try to do something unusual for the 29 faces!

One of the most fun things I like doing, is painting fast wiht left over paint for any other project.
I do not get to select a color, and I do not let my stong inclination of doping details.
That's a really good exercise for me! Because I like to get of my comfort zone and let the brush go fast with as little detail as I can manage.
Yes, there is such a thing as not knowing when to stop, and having too much fun lol

Wow... here we go in this awesome marathon, have fun making faces!
Practice, learn, test new stuff... try not to repeat so you can enrich your experience as much as you can with not-your-day-to-day art ♥
