How to add hair to a painting. Art collaboration

I am in an art collaboration with Britta Mindart.dk in Denmark and Sue in Scotland, so much fun! It is the FITW (face in the world) an art collab where each of us finishes the starting paint of the other in a team of 3.
In this video I make a very simple way to add colorful hair to a portrait.
Let me know what you think, and say hello in the channel if you can ♥

Quick collage

There is always a bit of time in the day to do art if we take a quick brake and create. I was feeling restless from not being able to paint or draw so I decided to just sit and do it :o)

Face in the World updates

My faces came back!
The 1st one on the left is Melissa's. The other 2 are mine, back from their travels overseas:

And this is what I added to the one I will mail this week: a crown and turquoise neck decoration, plus gold details. I also sealed the hair with medium.

I don't think I posted the one Anita started? It was mailed last week, I added more hair and a few touches to lips and eyes. I am planning to make a video slide with all of these ladies to see them transforming :oD

Taking it easy

This past weeks I have been taking it easy. Not exactly my plan but my hurt shoulder does not allow for much just yet. I have no idea how exactly I ended up hurting my shoulder, I guess it was a series of small actions, maybe? The thing is I can barely move it and I am having Physical Therapy that hurts as much as leaving it alone. Lets hope that it helps soon because it is so annoying!

So, not much art but I have a few nice images to share.
This is from the FITW. Lee in AU made the kitty but then she suggested to change it... so I asked again if it was OK to give it a whole other look and after the agreement, I turned around: (Now it is a Frida KATlo) :oP

What do you think? Do you like the results?

FITW madness!

Every time I run a FITW (Face in the World) challenge, we start with 4 or 5 groups, then we all go mad and I end up organizing 9, 10, 11... groups. It is so addictive! :oD
From Australia to Netherlands to Germany to New Zealand, Canada, the US and the UK we all mail and play ... and can't stop.
Few days ago I had in my mailbox 3 pieces the same day. So fantastic!!
Here is one from Lee in Australia:

The 2nd image shows my additions.

Updates in collab projects

Well.... I posted about it in FB but I did not mentioned it here in the blog.
I had a dental situation going on, easy fix, that turned into a year of nightmares. I had a 3rd surgery last week in the same spot to correct the mess made, and here I am, in pain and with a squirrel-in-fall with a puffy cheek. Again. Ugh!!
But I have tried to keep doing art here and there. As I said in the last post... it was hard to stop! So I added a couple of more layers to the TAP painting. I will just show a close up, I did not touch the rest. I behaved :oD

Another update, the FITW, I used fabric and a translucent metallic background that seems to disappear with light, really cool! It will be going to Germany to visit Andrea next:

....and I have a couple of awesome surprises I can't talk about yet!! it will have to wait a few more weeks yet, but it is really exciting and artsy!

Goodies and face number 20

I received this in the mail the other day:

It was like Christmas! One is my Face in the World II piece collaboration with Joy and Cheryl (top right) then a gift ACEO from Shelle in a super cute baggy, and it is a girl clown, I love her!, The wrapped card in the bottom in Shelle's card for me to work on, in a team with Down.

Said card is my face for today. Before and after:

I worked on the eyes, hair and body.

Also, my Frida painting arrived in Greece, so I was very happy about it ♥
That's all for now. How are you doing in your 29 faces so far?

29 faces and Face in the World II

These are the 4x6 pieces I worked on for the FITW II and I am using them for my 29 faces post. Today I made a video, took me forever and I will show the painting tomorrow, but the video will be for the class I was invited to teach in the Soul Food, as an appetizer, eye candy :oD turned out pretty, if I may say so myself ;oD

To the left, started by Magic Love Crow in Canada, I added the girl and mailed it to Shelle in Australia. The one right started by Cheryl A. and "Picassoed" by me.

This lady in blue was started by Joy Redington in the US, then I got it via Cheryl Alt, US too.

The one in the right was started by Dawn Myler in England, and I added the flesh tone and collage. She is on her way to Australia with Shelle K.

I can not even tell you all how much FUN it is to do the FITW, it is nerve wracking to work on someone else's piece but then it gets addictive, and it is awesome to see something I started, going around and having other creative minds add to each. Love it! ♥
I ended up making more teams than planned lol

I how you are having fun with the 29 faces! Visit the Linky HERE and discover ALL the amazing participants.127 so far! Is not too late to join, make this challenge YOURS, do something that makes you nervous, you will not be alone! We all are stretching out of our comfort zone and getting to meet new people!

Wuthering Heights

Another of the FITW II pieces:
Sandra did this fantastic finishing touch with the quote from Wuthering Heights:

Ilona made the background and I drew the lady with flowing hair...

Now a video to remember the movie, the song and the quote:

Third stop! FITW II

My starting pieces for Face In The World II are all dolled up!  This is how they were last time HERE
Look at them now:

Thanks Sandra, Ilona, Milo, Dawn, Malissa!
(Australia, Germany, California, England and NY!)

Aren't they pretty? I love them all! I have to confess one thing though... The last one was a bit pale to me, so I couldn't  leave it alone :oP

I added color to her skin and hair: (My scanner is going bananas, the background is more like apricot yellow than lemon!)

Thanks for visiting!
There's still time to be part of my giveaway HERE Ends on the 26th of August.
Share the post, get the anniversary button, and you can get my painting (not a print).
Thanks for helping me spread the word ♥

FITW II Team 7

After getting this beauty in my mail box, I had to stop for a couple of days to think on what to do, she looked very much finished! So after a while, the idea of collage came up and I decided to add a crown and polka dot paper for her top, with a fun turquoise background.
What do you think? Isn't she cute?

It was started by Milo and then by Dawn, this is how she looked like when I got it:

This way of collaborate is not only fun, but also makes us get out of the comfort zone and see new ideas, try new things and dare!
