Women's day

I hope everyone is having a beautiful Wednesday, which is also the celebration of Women's day. I have been seeing bunch memes and quotes that I really liked.
"Real queens fix each others crowns"
"We women have to remember to love each other, respect and protect each other and have each other's backs"
Having so much negativity in the world in pretty much every network, I choose to keep a light of positive energy, it is my effort even if it looks small to some. I think it is necessary and I will continue to focus on it. We women are strong but we need our little corner to re-charge our energy. Art is that space for me.

And here is my page for Beth's traveling fabric book, her theme is something Japanese, I hope she likes it!

Tiny sketches for day 21 of 29

I made 3 little sketches, I am liking this color paper instead of the white, seems like there is already a background, even if I did not add a thing :o)
Faces 21, 22, 23

I know I will be adding more color to these little girls.

Simple outline face, day 17 of 29 faces

This is a simple outlined face, in yellow paper, no watercolor. The yellow makes a big contrast looking energetic, even when she is peacefully looking at you :o)

Thanks for visiting, and I hope you are enjoying your challenge!

Painting darker skin tones. Day 11 od 29 faces

I'm painting darker skin tones today. I am very happy with this face!
I used umber, ochre, red, blue and sienna and pink.  Since the size is so tiny, it was barely drops of watercolor or not even that... more like tiny brush tips.
I didn't want to paint a background because I liked the face so much ;o)

OMG Day 26 of 29 faces. Drawing a face on card stock

I made this drawing while waiting for my husband in the car on an errand. It is in red card stock that I used to make a little sketchbook...
I have been SO busy with the video art collabs, the video editing and the new 2 online classes (registration open now! see HERE) bu I can always make a little time for a sketched face ♥ We are almost at the end of the 29 faces!
What is new for me this time around is the position of the heads when I draw or paint, and in this case the hair... isn't she cute wiht that short style?

Day 19, illustration

I made this little illustration out of one of my drawings, and I colored it with wet media on printed paper. After I scanned I discovered the ondulation paper gives a cool halo around her so I left it like that :oD

SOC first week

I have never been so good at working with a limited palette. I love using tons of colors even if it is only a hidden drop. So Summer of Color really represents a challenge for me.
This is the page I made in my journal based on "2 blues and a green" which was the prop of this 1st week:

I had to make a face, you know? So she ended up looking like a reject from Avatar or a never shown (for a good reason!) work from Picasso in his Blue period... kind of lol

But... I made a video nonetheless! \(͡๏‿๏)/

faces 22 and 23 of 29faces

This weekend was full of surprises. Not all of them the fun kind :oP Lets just say that I didn't have much time to do art, but I made these in the hopes to not fall behind :oP

#22 is one of my girls, but just at the sketch point.

#23 is a crazy mono-printed paper with my gelatine pad. This actually was one I was going to get rid of, but I totally saw a woman there, so I marked the features with my charcoal pencil. can you see her? Click to see larger.

Are you keeping up? Sometimes life goes bananas... we just have to do what we can to hold on tight (-'‿'-)

Girl with kitty. 19 and 20 faces

It's been so long since I didn't paint a kitty! I cannot believe it!

Well, my friend Melo Art posted a link of an artist (whose name escapes me at this moment, sorry!) it was a painting of a cat on a bench in a garden.... that amazed me because it looked like my cat, on a bench lol here he is, modeling:

So after that, of course I needed to make a cat painting. So here it is.
These are faces 19 and 20.

Can you believe how fast the challenge is going?

10th face of February

In a hurry? Just squiggle your brush with some random page. It doesn't even have to make sense. Leave it alone after 5, 10 minutes.

Yes, it is hard to stop but we were in a hurry, right?  (°‿~ )✌
You can always come back to it later.

6th face for the Traveling Journal

I made this girl face for Joy's traveling journal, I hope she likes her!
The book is about 5x7.
Do you like art journals? I always preferred loose paper but my friend Pam gave me a journal and I have been addicted ever since! (Thanks Pam, like I needed another art-addiction LOL) ♥

Twinkling H2O paintings

Free video!
I had fun painting this page in the traveling journal, with the twinkling H2O watercolors... they are so pretty! The colors are beautiful and shimmery ♥
I had a typo at the end, it is "Golden fluids" for the hair, but somehow it only showed "gold"
so I corrected it ... it is actually Raw Umber.
