Face in the World update

Here is Manon's painting, as she was done by my team so far:

And after thinking for a while on what to do to her in my turn, this if what I changed:

I shorten the hair, gave her a uni brow, and being a Frida-lady then she of course needed more flowers, so I cloned the Flower detail she had and also painted a necklace like one of Frida's portraits and highlighted the leaves.

She is ready to go back to her original home ♥

I hope all the mothers out there had a happy day! Here is a photo I took of a mama dove that made her nest in my patio, I think today her babies took off flying because we went to check and the nest was empty. They were ready to go :o) Sniff sniff

Day 5, DoD

A fun folk face for today! Dia de los Muertos mask, Day of the dead.
This is actually a mask I started over the long weekend we had, since I couldn't paint on anything large at that time. I video taped it, so I will upload the video and add a link here when ready.

She is not ready yet! Wait and see how purty she turned out ;oD

Chat and Time for a Giveaway!

This month I'm celebrating 7 years of almost constant blabbering, I mean blogging!
It's been a long, fun, sometimes irritating (when the computer acts up) ride.
The first few post were far in between. I figured, having 3 readers and one of them being my cat, it was ok to skip days or weeks without showing up.  (◠‿◠)

I have a wonderful group of blog friends now; we share giggles, art and bits of our daily lives. And one of the things I enjoy most is helping people, or bumping into blogs with the help I need at any given moment, so I will start posting more tutorials on blogging, and art stuff. After all, in my opinion, that's what the internet is all about. Well that, and online shopping! And cat videos. And forwarding inspiring quotes and funny jokes. And... ok, you get the point.

Now, for the giveaway! update winners HERE

I am going to give away 7 hand made goodies.
5 small artworks for domestic/international mailing, and 2 large/bulgy paintings for the US only. Sorry about that my friends, but I don't want to deal with paper forms and a crazy shipping fee to an unexpected place like Timbuktu. But absolutely EVERYONE from any country can participate!

To Play:
* Grab the blog button, Share with everyone, the more the merrier!
* Post, tweet, FB, share in yahoo groups, Pinterest... anywhere you want to share,
* Then just come and tell me in this post that you want to be added.

*  AND Tell me which gift number you like best to win, so chances are you will get that one!

Reconsidering

How long do you wait for a painting you made to feel that it is done? How long do you wait after you are done, and the painting doesn't sell, doesn't get any feedback... for you to feel that it is not as cute/good/finished... as you thought? Do you blame the economy, the lack of enough networking? or is there a point where you think the poor thing is simply bad? (I could go even deeper, thinking simply that one's art stinks... but I won't go there)
Do you despair? Do you repaint? Do you leave it in the corner of a closet to be forgotten? :o)

This is one of my Fridas. At the time I though she was so cute and funny... I was making funny looking people and all of them sold but her.  It's been ages and all she gets is a quick pass through. So I decided she needed a fresh start!

What do you think? Darker background, face lift, darker hair and jewelry. She is ready for a Fiesta :oD

Sold
Well... enjoy the rest of your day!

My art hangs here...

I am dancing in the clouds.... It is with great pleasure that I show this links to the Art Show in Moss, Norway. I am lucky to be part of it with 2 Frida art cards that were mailed to help get funds for books in their Library.
David Samdum had this great idea of making the first Twitter and Art International show and has done so much work to put all of this together!
I blurred the other art but click on each pic to see the walls as it is displayed. .

One already sold in the first day! :oD I wish I was there... cold, snow and all!

Skellies, skulls and boney things

I have been merrily drawing Dia de los Muertos Art. I will paint soon, but so far the drawing muse is here so I have to hear the call or she will leave in a tantrum. :oP

What do you think? I personally feel happy so far. I can see every color I want for each.

Fortunately my internet service has been more reliable now, but since I couldn't be online I did more art... funny how that goes, huh? I re arranged the work space a bit too, not too much like last time, that I moved so many things, at the end I guess I packed my inspiration as well, because it took me a while to get back to painting or sculpting!

Hey, I am so thrilled to say, I won a giveaway from the super cool blog DAWG blog!
Can't wait to see my mail!

Three Divas on canvas

The title reminded me of the three tenors, but these are painted Divas. Of course one of them is Friida K!
Acrylics on 5x7 canvas board, and with a little bit of impasto look. Sometimes when I start on canvas with a lot of texture, it scares me to death! I was so sure I would never finish each of them! I really had to go with the brush to cover the surface, but I am happy with the result, specially with the half nude in blues and greens, since the poor lady was in progress for so many months hehehe The other 2 were a paint till you are done kind of art.

So, here are the pictures. Will go to ebay for a very low starting price, just for fun.

Red haired Diva:

Half nude Lady:

Frida in the night:

Let me know what you think! I need  to hear feedback to keep going on that direction. I will keep painting my little girls, those are addictive to me! But I want to start painting a little bigger size again, too.
What do you all think?
