Azura and her cupcake

This little thing is called Azura. Her hair is blue, her tutu is purple, her wings transparent and shiny. I offered her a cupcake and she climbed on my hand all smiles, but when I tried to take pictures of her without it, she almost bit me!

Bunch of mini-dramas

I had all kinds of mini dramas happening to me this past week.
First, the new attic door project.
That was such a messy business! plaster all over the place, insulation fluff everywhere, tools and chaos till it was done and painted (and little me doing the picking up of course :oP)

See the anime on the ceiling? That was my kid, she turned into Michael Angelo when she knew she had a chance to doodle with her pencil on the walls lol

Then it was the shocking surprise to see my favorite doll attacked by Panzon, who thought he didn't have enough toys I guess. All her hair was gone :oC

Just look at that face! like saying "What? I'm a cat!"

Also, I participated in a Christmas secret-friend, and the beautiful doll sent to me arrived here broken. :o( I swear we have gorillas and rhinos managing my postal office. Gosh! Fortunately I think I can fix her, but it was a sad thing to see.

This is what I made for my Christmas secret-friend. A portrait of her doggy that went to doggy heaven few weeks ago.

Hope she likes it!! I had not been painting for a while and almost forgot the pleasure of dragging the brush on the canvas...

Another mini drama was last night when my DH decided to have a bit of peanut butter and dropped the slippery glass jar on the floor... agh! there were shards of glass miles away from the jar, took lots of cleaning. I have you know, it's not a fun thing to do late at night LOL.... at least no one was barefooted!

On the lighter side, I listed some items online in Etsy, and ebay.(See the right side bar) Let's see how that goes. :o)

I took some outside pictures of my tiny fairies and I am very happy with the results, so I will have more listings soon.... Wish me luck!

What do you think? I love the tree bark texture!

Three down...

Actually I should say four down and one more to go. But anyway, here is another picture with more tiny fairies done, they are a bit less than 3 inches tall. One of them has the tiniest leather shoes I ever made! I think they turned out cute, if I may say so myself :oP

I am also working on some bigger paperclay dolls, and I am holding myself from starting on an Izannah Walker inspired doll. I have the pattern and the general idea, but I need time because it requires a lot of sewing and I am not that fast at it....
But aren't they gorgeous!? Here's a PICTURE of one, from North dixie designs, in case you have not seen one before.

Keep making art and enjoy the autumn!

Strange things...

I've been merrily working on some tiny dolls for the ADO challenge, and I'm telling you, I'm afraid I was too close to the elements (play The Twilight-Zone music in the backgrownd):op
After I started working for the one elf of the Water element... it rained, here in California, in the summer! Then when working on the one representing Earth... My mushrooms were conjoined, my flowers have been doing crazy things, like, the bougainvillea took over the hibiscus, and the passion vine climbed all over the roses... is it the Earth element's elf's fault.... or just me being a lazy gardener?? You be the judge! ;o)

Oh! and we lost the electric power. We were in the dark... worst of all: we were in the dark WITHOUT computer ho-ho-ho ;o) jk!
97 happy degrees outside and feeling like pizzas in here. The electricity finally came back somewhere around midnight, as I was thinking to grab a pillow and go to take a nap at the 24 hour open grocery store.
I'm not sure if I should blame the "Fire element" doll as well, since I had just finished the last touches on that one at that time....

Now I'm afraid of even get close to the "Air element" elf hehhehee

I am working on a little story for them as well.... :oD

Cool video and Avatar comments

Well, first the good news and then the comments:
I am thrilled to announce that one of my dolls is on a video made by CheriV, from the group ADO (Art Dolls Only) Enjoy... then read about my avatars...

OK, Here's my question/comment: Like most crafters/artists nowadays, I belong to different groups online and I guess some people have their act together much better than others, as in more uniform with the same icon everywhere...and I have been using any ol' avatar that I can grab at the moment, because usually one size doesn't fit all, so.... In order to go standard I have been changing most of them into only 2 avatars... and my blog picture.
OK, then it's 3.
I think I should change everything to the same avatar.
I was going to use the first one everywhere, but in ning it just doesn't work because of the proportions, so I use the second one. The third one I use in OG, but will update with the eye soon.

Plus my blog pic, that I have been using since 2005.
....geez that's 4 LOL ....Didn't I say that I had a lot of them??
Now I wonder, should I change my blog icon into the eye avatar?

Website's new look, and baby elf WIP

Last night, somewhere close to midnight, after months and months of working off and on in the updating of my website, I finally finished. HERE is the old look I posted months ago.
And HERE is the new look which includes dolls, WIPs, ACEOs, paintings, cool links on tutorials and how-to on all the stuff I love. Unfortunately I lost all my page hits and counter in the process... oh well....
I hope you can visit and enjoy it. As hard as it was for me to settle into one style, it was a lot of fun and I am glad I am done.... for a good while anyway! All the updates will still be here in the blog, but there's one thing missing... items in my store and auctions!! lol
Here's a new baby elf I am playing with. She still needs her hair, but she has not told me yet if she likes purple or yellow better. :o)

Before February is gone...

I hope everyone had a wonderful Groundhog day, Valentine's day, President's day, Mardi Gras, and why not, Ash Wednesday as well...

Updates, OK, The video I talked so much about some postings ago went great. We got an A+! yaay! I have to shorten it a bit to unload it here, it's too big so "whenever if ever" I will upload and post. It is actually a very funny video, and it is educative as well, since it had ti be based on the Odyssey.

Now as for dolls.... I have been finishing all the half-finished projects, so the poor things can be done.
Remember the one picture with several DOLLY heads? I just finished the smallest of them, and if I may say so myself, she turned out pretty cute. I made her hat with leather and a tiny bell so she can be seen and heard ;o) Just 3.5 inches tall, hat and all.

That little fairy....

Some postings ago, I showed you a picture of a little naughty fairy that was playing peek-a-boo with me (while still bald!). Well, She's gone to visit another blog now. :oD
Look at the LINK of this great site from Iris Mishly, full of cool links and polymer info.

She finally has hair!

Took me forever, but my fairy finally has hair (a beautiful turquoise mohair) AND I finally took a picture. LOL I am very happy with this fairy! She still has her mischivous little face and her wings are so cute! She has a strong wire armature and movable arms & legs, so it is a lot of fun to sit her in a pose. I am still working on a "rock" for her to sit. So far she's been in a regular chair, but she needs something more.... natural forestie-fairie looking place to sit.

Little by little

Several things have happened in the past days:
I am not a politically inclined person but.... Alaska Gov. Palin was introduced as a vicepresident for the Republican party (I like her a lot). Casey Anthony went out... then in... then out again from jail and she's not telling where her little girl is (if you don't know who she is go HERE, Oh, and Sen. Obama said he visited 57 states of our country.
Geee I thought only my town was growing!

And in our little local news, my eye is getting better. :o)

Hey guys, couple of weeks ago I sent out the YBA "chat and win" surprise to each winner and It was really nice for me to see how much each member like what I sent.
I had a lot of fun shipping as well. I love ACEOs and I love to surprise people.

And the little fairies I'm working on? Well, little by little they are getting done. At this point they have their tull undergarments on.
Look at the picture, she knows she's pretty!

Two happy dolls and one sad eye

I have been playing with different shapes of faces for my dolls, and trying to make them look more the way I see them in my head. Hard to do, because usually the dolls look they way they want, not the way I tell them too Xo)
So anyway, as I was waiting for them to cool after the oven, I decided to do some gardening. I thought everything went normal, until my son came back from school and asked me: "Mom! What happened to your eye!?". Agh! I have a blotchy red spot in my left eye. Looks quite sad. I'm not quite sure if it was a dry branch, a bug or what.
So now I look funny.
I wonder if that's why the little fairies are laughing? Or maybe they are giggling at eachother because they are still bald.

My funky art dolls

I finished working on some my dolls. I like them if I may say so myself.
After making a series of sketches at the end of the day the doll (as the paintings) go where they like to go, and end up looking the way they like... not always like the sketch!

I'll list them on ebay and my etsy shop
